New Service Announcement

On Friday May 17th, we will be announcing an exiciting new service that's EXCLUSIVE to arpReach users.

While full details will be launched on the 17th, we can say that this is something we've been working on for a while with industry experts, giving you more control, less restrictions, better delivery and access to the most knowledgable support - because those same experts built the entire solution.

We'll be posting the announcement here on the blog first, so look out for it on Friday May 17th.

Exciting times!

May 1st, 2013

Welcome to Next Steps for May 2013! Next Steps is published at the beginning of each month. It reviews the previous month in the world of arpReach and lets you know what's coming up this month.

- New platinum level released (with new affiliate commission)
- Version 1.2.002 released and in the hub
- Remote call event for software integration
- New service viability survey
- New version in May
- arpReach Standard - end of free installation

New platinum level released

We have added arpReach Platinum to our product portfolio. It is functionally the same as arpReach Gold. The difference is that its license allows for 10 separate installations (Gold is 5).

arpReach Platinum represents fantastic value for money. If you have ten websites and you want a separate autoresponder on each, arpReach Platinum gives this for just $59.50 per site and NO MONTHLY FEES!

Affiliates earn $148.75 per sale!

For affiliates, this means that you can now earn up to $148.75 commission per sale as this is commission paid for sales of arpReach Platinum.

New version released - 1.2.002

We released a new version of arpReach at the end of April with the following enhancements and fixes. You can always download the latest version from the arpReach hub.

- Can now sort contacts by number of subscriptions.
- After adding a contact, you can jump to "add subscription" screen.
- Fixed bug in importing contacts that affected Firefox users only.
- Fixed a bug in the action copy and copy/edit functionality.
- Enhanced the "remote call" event for software integration (see below).

Remote call event for integration with other software (Gold and Platinum only)

Techy alert - this one's for programmers!

arpReach version 1.2.002 has enhanced "remote call" functionality which makes it easer for you to make things happen within arpReach from your own software.

Using Contacts / Actions, you can create any number of actions and call them from within your own code.

Example

You have created a membership site. When someone joins, you want your membership/ordering software to interact with arpReach to

- add the member to your arpreach contact list.
- tag the new contact as "member".
- send the new contact a welcome email.
- add the new contact to the "members" autoresponder sequence.
- add the new contact to the "members" contact category.

Adding the new contact is as simple as getting your code to issue an http post to a subscription form as is already described in detail (with an example) in the "Posting HTTP Data" section of the arpReach user guide available from the hub.

For the other 4 things you want to happen, you simply need to create 4 actions in Contacts / Actions. Then you call those 4 actions from your code using a simple URL-based call:

http://yourdomain.com/a/a.php/actions/remote?access_key=xxxxx&email=whoever@domain.com&actions=1,2,3,4

(The above URL is one single line)

- get the access key from Setup / System Settings / System / Integration.

- the email address is the email address of the contact to be fed into the action.

- actions is a comma-separated list of action id numbers that you want to call. The actions list in Contacts / Actions has a column containing the ID numbers that can be used here.

From that one simple call from within your software, you can make arpReach run the 4 required actions on the new contact, and it's securely protected by the access key (which you can change at any time).

Job done!

New service viability survey

Look out for announcements during May about two new services we're considering offering to arpReach users. These services are designed to help you grow your subscriber list and to help cater for your needs as your list grows.

We need to know if there is a demand for these services so we will be asking you for your thoughts. We will post details here as they become available along with loads of information on these services.

New minor update in May

There will be one minor update in May where we will offer tighter integration with selected SMTP providers based on user feedback we have received. We will post more information here as it becomes available.

arpReach Standard - end of free installation (still available for Gold and Platinum)

From early May (date to be announced), free professional installation will be discontinued for arpReach Standard purchases. A $40 discount code will be available making the price an affordable $57. As always, free one-time installation will continue to be available for arpReach Gold and arpReach Platinum purchases while time allows for us to offer it free.

Click here to order now with free installation

That's it for this month's Next Steps.

Have a fantastic and profitable May!

April 24th, 2013
Hey guys

Have you ever checked your follow-up message statistics to see which of them causes the most unsubscribes?

You might be surprised at the findings!

We just did a check on a sequence we run and here are the statistics for the 6 messages in the sequence.

Message #1 generates 15.5% of the unsubscribes
Message #2 generates 76.8% of the unsubscribes
Message #3 generates none of the unsubscribes
Message #4 generates 0.6% of the unsubscribes
Message #5 generates 0.6% of the unsubscribes
Message #6 generates 6.6% of the unsubscribes

It's very interesting to see that message #2 generates so many more unsubscribes than the other messages. That message needs some SERIOUS work.

So look at your own statistics for your follow-up messages because it could actually be your content that is driving people away.

Now there's a scary thought.

So how do you check your unsubscribe stats for an autoresponder in arpReach, broken down by message?

1. Go to the Autoresponder list by choosing Autoresponders / Show List from the menu.
2. Choose Reports from the Actions column.
3. Choose Unsubscriptions By Message from the report choices dropdown (top right).

And at the top left of the report screen, you will see the number of contacts in each status such as Active, Failed and Cancelled. If you do the following simple calculation, it will give you the percentage of all contacts who joined this list that eventually unsubscribed.

Cancelled / Total Subscriptions * 100

(Cancelled divided by Total Subscriptions multiplied by 100)

For our list, this works out at 8.9%.

Now, while that number doesn't mean much on its own, we definitely want to drive that number in the downward direction.

We hope it helps!

Hey everyone!

Last week, our CEO spent a couple of days at the UK Elite Marketers Mastermind group meeting. This is a very small group of top UK online marketers who meet regularly to share their experience and ideas and to offer peer support.

He has come back brimming with so many ideas for new features and functionality for arpReach that will be implemented in the coming months.

It just goes to show that no matter how long you have been in the online marketing business, there is always so much more to learn, implement and test.

Thanks everyone!

The arpReach license database has been updated and two domains have been added FREE to every live arpReach license.

Thank you ALL for your continued support.

A quick update on the new help portal. The propagation seems to be slowly happening as some people can access the portal and some people can't. Others can access it on their mobile phone but not on their landline-based computer.

A little patience and we'll get there.

Remember to bookmark the help portal URL which is

http://support.arpreach.com

P.S. If this takes you to the old Hesk help desk then please don't raise a ticket there but wait until the propagation to the new portal is complete.

Have a great weekend everyone!
April 12th, 2013

...we just need you to be a little patient as we wait for the DNS propagation to take place around the globe.

It's launched!

We are delighted to announce that the new arpReach help portal is now launched and will be available to everyone as soon as the DNS propagation has completed.

The new help portal emphasises quick solutions by offering several ways of finding the answers you need without having to wait for a response from a support representative.

We are also delighted to announce that we have added new staff to the help desk to make sure you get quick, knowledgable responses.

Your support personnel are Alison Gray, Jill Harris and David Alexander supported by Scott Russell and Helen Thomson in the sales and admin office.

The new help portal offers

- Searchable solutions knowledge base
- Searchable user forums
- Help desk ticketing system

Our support staff will be reviewing every user ticket and adding userful information from each to the solutions knowledege base. That way, the knowledge base will quickly grow to include all the questions and answers that routinely come up. We thank you for your input and patience as we build this up.

So bookmark the following address. When the DNS propagation is complete, the following address will take you to the front page of the help portal where you can access the solutions knowledge base, user forums and ticketing system.

Thank you for your ongoing support as we continuously improve arpReach and its support services.

April 10th, 2013

Hey everyone!

Join us in our double celebration giveaway!

Make sure you have your arpReach license by close of business Thursday because we're going to add 2 extra domains to every active license.

That's a $40 gift for every active user!

Why are we doing this?

Because we have two fantastic things to celebrate today and we have our wonderful users to thank for both of them.

1. Now that final figures are in, March 2013 was the best month that arpReach has ever had and it's growing month on month. More and more people are realising the rich feature set normally reserved for mega-priced autoresponders, complete control of their valuable data and freedom of choice over delivery provider that arpReach brings to their email marketing. We welcome and thank every one of you.

With the launch of our new help portal and user forums later this week (see the post below), we hope you will see our continued commitment to bringing you a top-notch, well-supported email marketing solution at a great price but NO MONTHLY FEES. We have no plans to rest on our laurels and have some great plans for new features AND additional services that have one joint aim - to help boost your business in new and exciting ways.

2. As if that wasn't enough, here's another milestone! During the last 24 hours, we have seen the highest daily sales figures since the launch of arpReach. Again, we thank each and every one of our users, both old and new, for their tremendous support. We truly appreciate it.

So, as a thank you, every user who has any kind of active arpReach license will have two domains added to their license on Friday when we run a database update.

If you are not yet an arpReach user, what are you waiting for?

Click here to buy your license today.

or

Click here if you are already an AutoResponse Plus (ARP3) user and need to upgrade.

Your order MUST be in by close of business on Thursday to qualify for your $40 gift of the extra two domain allowance as we can only run Friday's database update one time.

Enjoy and profit!

P.S. The success of in our sales and marketing is on no small way directly attrributable to our affiliates who continue to earn hundreds of dollars by promoting arpReach to their site visitors, blog readers and newsletter subscribers.

Sign up as an affiliate today and get a instant $25 bonus added to your account.

April 9th, 2013

Hey everyone!

We are delighted to announce that we will be launching our new help portal later this week. This will be your point of contact for all arpReach-related enquiries. We aim to make as much information as possible publically available to help you find answers as quickly as possible.

The new arpReach help portal runs on FreshDesk and provides 3 types of support, all of which are available to arpReach users with an active upgrades/support plan.

- User forums for peer-led assistance and research
- Knowledge base for instant self-help
- Ticketing system for help, feature requests and bug reports

Our help desk staff will be available to note your feature suggestions and pass those to the development team. They will also be your first point of contact for all enquiries. For that reason, the "feedback" and "chat" buttons will disappear from the site. By integrating all of these systems into one, we aim to better serve you and react to requests and issues more quickly as they arise.

We will post here as soon as the new help portal is up and running.

April 2nd, 2013

Hey everyone!

If you celebrated Easter at the weekend, we at arpReach all hope you had a great time.

At arpReach Towers, we are all now back at work after the long Easter weekend.

Plans this week include starting the migration of our support platform to its new home (ZenDesk) as we are outgrowing our current support software (Hesk). Thank you in advance for your patience as we complete this transition. The good news is that ZenDesk has both a searchable knowledge base and a forum system. So for all those who thought a forum would be a good idea, we will have one very soon. Both of these features will make it easier for you to find answers to common questions without having to wait for a response from support.

As part of our support revamp, we are also increasing our technical support resource and aim to have a new technical staff member by the end of this week.

The arpReach minor update we mentioned recently is coming soon with a couple of feature enhancements and minor bug fixes. Again, we thank you for your patience as we make the changes and test the software. We always thoroughly test our updates as there's no point in releasing software that breaks a system that's already working. It all takes time but we think it's better that way.

We are delighted to see more and more AutoResponse Plus (ARP3) users are upgrading to arpReach. If you are an existing AutoResponse Plus (ARP3) user then you can upgrade to arpReach Gold for a great discounted price.

Click here to upgrade your AutoResponse Plus (ARP3) license

Have a great week!

Happy Monday from arpReach

Hey everyone - happy Monday!

It's almost Easter and the talk in the office (well, from Helen's desk) has been chocolate eggs. Bring it on!

But that's next weekend and we have loads planned before then.

Last week we had to spend a lot of time on our backoffice systems. We are automating all our systems so that users can purchase upgrades to their licenses without having to wait for us to complete them manually. The first of these is complete and working - the AutoResponse Plus (ARP3) upgrade system.

Remember that AutoResponse Plus (ARP3) users get a big discount when upgrading to arpReach Gold. Use the link below to grab your upgrade.

Click here to migrate your license from AutoResponse Plus (ARP3) to arpReach.

We have further work to do on our backoffice systems, integrating the hub into arpReach.com and implementing a brand-new help desk solution. This work will be ongoing over the coming weeks.

This week's focus is arpReach itself

This week, our developers are focusing on arpReach itself. We have some enhancements to complete and we aim to have those done and released by the end of this week. This will be version 1.2.002 and we will announce its availability first, here on the blog with details of what's new.

We also plan on adding to our ever-growing video library this week. If you have a specific request for a tutorial video, click the Feedback button on the right hand side of any page and enter your request. You can also use this to vote up the suggestions of others.

We wanna know - do users want a forum?

If you have an opinion on this, remember to comment on last Friday's blog post (right below this one) as that's where we're collecting feedback on this.

Have a great Monday!

March 22nd, 2013

arpReach weekly review

Hi everyone!

It's that time of the week again where we tell you what we've been up to all week and welcome your feedback, comments and opinion.

We've really had our heads in PHP, HTML, CSS and Javascript this week so if it seems like we've been quiet, that's only because we've been busy working on the stuff we'll tell you about here.

AutoResponse Plus (ARP3) upgrades

We spent time this week working on an automated upgrade system for AutoResponse Plus (ARP3) users wishing to migrate to arpReach Gold. Previously, we were having to process those orders manually and that wasn't very efficient for customers.

We're delighted to announce the automated system is complete and working. All you need is your AutoResponse Plus (ARP3) license number and you can complete the process.

And did we say? There's a great discount for existing AutoResponse Plus (ARP3) users!

Find out more about upgrading here

Active Contact (formerly known as micro-segmentation and events and actions)

We decided that the contact events and actions functionality warranted a name of its own.

So it is now called Active Contact.

Over the coming weeks and months we will be extending functionality under this new name to add features that allow you to even better laser-target your communication on an individual contact by contact basis.

Watch the (quick and dirty) Active Contact video

Version 1.2.001 bug fix

Some early adopters of version 1.2.001 found a small bug that crept into the contact importing functionality in the latest update (1.2.001). We fixed it straight away so if you've upgraded in the past day or two then you should be fine.

If anyone with 1.2.001 gets an error message after clicking the Start Import button, follow this procedure to update the problematic script.

Only use this procedure if you are already on 1.2.001.

1. Download the latest zip (full or update) from the hub.

2. Unzip it to your computer.

3. Find the script called "do_import.php" in the application/controllers/contacts directory.

4. Upload it using FTP or your hosting panel's file manager to directory application/controllers/contacts in your arpReach installation directory.

Updating that one script is all you need to do and the fix is instant.

arpReach.tv - new videos

We have added some new videos to the video library and will continue to do so over the coming weeks until all areas of the software have been covered thoroughly.

Visit the video library

FREE EMAIL MARKETING COURSE - The Fortune is in the Follow-Up Course

We have revised and updated our free email marketing course called "The Fortune is in the Follow-Up". It is a 7 day course (one email per day) that takes you through the steps to creating a successful follow-up email marketing campaign.

To subscribe to the couse, click the Learn More button on the page menu bar above and choose the "Free Email Course" option.

If you REALLY want to take your learning of follow-up marketing to the next level (and beyond!) we highly recommend this fantastic course.

Coming up next week

New website functionality and updates took a lot of time this week, but here's what's planned over the coming week or two:

  • Version 1.2.002 update with some new features (to be announced).
  • Enhanced contact self-edit screen so contacts can change their own email address.
  • More efficient batch editing and deleting of contacts (including adding new subscriptions).
  • New videos, including Amazon SES setup and advanced integration (user defined functions etc).
  • A brand-new help desk system (Hesk is great but we have outgrown it).
...as we strive to make arpReach THE autoresponder and email marketing solution of choice. The self-hosted versus 3rd party service argument is DEAD because anyone can now easily outsource to any number of delivery experts that  and, even better, pitch them against each other to drive your delivery rate up and up.

We plan tighter and tighter integration between arpReach and the top performers in the field and we already have plans in place to add specific functionality to achieve this.

You can have the best of all worlds with arpReach - fantastic delivery rates AND retain full control over your list data. Why wouldn't you? Your list surely is one of your most valuable business assets.

A final question (now you'll understand the forum mention!)...

We have been pondering the launch of a user forum. Today someone left feedback about it and we're up for it if the demand is there.

- Would you use it?
- Would you answer questions?
- Would you help moderate it?

If you have any comments to make about it, please leave a comment below.

As always for our Friday review, we want to hear from you. So please use the comment facility below.

Have a FANTASTIC weekend!

arpReach weekly review

Hey everyone - happy Monday!

Last week was incredibly busy and productive and we have another one planned for this week (and next for that matter).

And look what we found in our inbox this morning. These make it all worthwhile for us.

From Brian Terry of OutVeo.com

"I just want to say that I think you've raised the bar so high your competitors are going to find it next to impossible to get anywhere close to what you're now offering with arpReach.

Also, I've been using arp3 since the very early days and you've made email marketing so much more profitable as a result of everything you've done. Thanks!

From Michael Lofton

"Wow, I just knew that by staying with ARP3 and subsequently upgrading to ArpReach, over the last 7+ years, it would be continually - wonderfully well worth it... and, Indeed It Has!

So much enjoying and learning more, and appreciating all the updates you are supplying us ArpReach lovers to date. Your latest incorporations are just another example of giving an Autoresponder owner like myself ever more reasons to smile with enjoyment!

Be well always and thanks again for keeping ArpReach Fresh!"

Affiliates - a new video

At the weekend, we put together a very quick video (only 76 seconds!) that shows you how to check your affiliate link is working.

Click here the view the video .

Look out for regular updates as the week goes on. We hope to be releasing a minor update by the end of the week. It adds some important functionality to help you in managing spam complaints more efficiently. We also have plans for ramping up the speed when connecting to certain remote SMTP providers. More on that when we have some concrete information.

Have a great day and make it count!

arpReach weekly review

Hey everyone!

It's been incredibly busy here at arpReach towers all week.

Here are some of the new things came out of this effort that are now available.

Micro-segmentation with tags, events and actions

We have launched the new version (1.2.001) which has the exciting new micro-segmentation features. These allow you to laser-target your content to individual contacts not only sending them what they want but sending it at the moment they express interest.

Watch the video on tags, events and actions

How to get these great new features?

The ability to tag contacts is in both arpReach Standard and Gold. The ability to react instantly to contact events with a whole host of powerful actions is exclusive to arpReach Gold.

Buy arpReach Gold here.

We have updated the features page so you can see how this all fits together.

AutoResponse Plus (ARP3) upgrades

AutoResponse Plus has been discontinued and replaced by arpReach. Support for AutoResponse Plus is now winding down and no updates will be released.

For AutoResponse Plus (ARP3) users wishing to upgrade their AutoResponse Plus license to arpReach Gold, there is a new automated system. It allows you to upgrade at a huge $248 discount on the arpReach Gold price.

Your new arpReach license includes your existing ARP3 allowance or boosts it to 10 (whichever is higher). You also get 2 years of access to support and upgrades.

Your new arpReach license is issued instantly so you can get started immediately.

Visit the AutoResponse Plus (ARP3) upgrade center

arpReach video  - installation on CPanel hosting

We have just completed a new video and it is now available in the video library. This new video walk you through the process of installing arpReach on a CPanel webhost such as Hostgator, Liquid Web, Just Host and thousands of others.

The vast majority of our customers host on CPanel servers and installation on that platform is quick and easy.

Affiliate program

The new arpReach affiliate program is up and running and some affiliates already have hundreds of dollars in their accounts. What are you waiting for?

What's next?

Next week, we plan on re-launching our free email course on follow-up email marketing. It has been updated to include micro-segmentation with tags, events and actions so makes for very interesting reading.

By the end of next week, we will have released another minor update that adds a couple of new facilities that users have been asking for.

We also plan on adding more videos to the library. If you have any requests for the videos we do first, please let us know.

Have a FANTASTIC weekend everyone!

arpReach game changer

Ok, time has REALLY run out on us thanks to Camtasia taking FOREVER to render the demo video.

But it's ready!

The software itself is zipped up and ready to go. It will be available from tomorrow and we will post here when it has been uploaded.

We have kept the "Standard Price" ($200 discount) offer until we upload the software tomorrow. If you want it at the low price, now's your chance because these features will only be in arpReach Gold ($395) from tomorrow.

Order here at the low, standard price.

OK, all set? Here we go.

March 12th, 2013
We are currently drinking lots (and lots and lots) of Latte Macchiato while we wait (and wait and wait and wait) for Camtasia to finish rendering our video demo of the micro-segmentation features.

As soon as it's done, we'll post it here.

We're going to leave the Standard price (save $200) offer open until tomorrow to allow you to watch the video then purchase at the low price. Get it here.

As you will soon see, these features are unbelievably powerful and (until today) only found in the highest of high-end autoresponders.

Morning everyone!

It's 5.45am EST.

We will be making the new version of arpReach with micro-segmentation features available later today.

We just thought of one REALLY great addition so we're quickly going to shoe-horn that in before the launch and we'll tell you about it then.

So you have just 10 hours from this posting if you want to get these great new features at the price of arpReach Standard (saving $200). After that, they'll be in arpReach Gold only.

Talk later.
March 11th, 2013
Happy Monday everyone!

Just a quick reminder that the new arpReach micro-segmentation features will be launched tomorrow (Tuesday, March 12th) and at least one (maybe two) of them will not be in arpReach Standard as they will be exclusive to arpReach Gold

If you want the new micro-segmentation features (see last Friday's blog post below) at the low, Standard price (saving $200) then you need to order arpReach Standard by close of play today, Monday, March 11th.

We're excited about Tuesday's launch and we will announce here when the download is available.

P.S. Don't forget we still have free (one time) installation. This will definitely be ending soon as there are only so many hours in the day that we can fill with free services!

The Power of Micro-Segmentation

arpReach already has many ways to segment your list into target groups.

For example, when scheduling a broadcast, you can use simple segmentation by targeting contacts who are subscribed to a particular autoresponder or who belong to certain categories.

arpReach micro-segmentation

On a more advanced level, you can create segments and add multiple criteria to narrow down the contacts you want to target. So, for example, you could create a segment of contacts in Arizona who subscribed to your "Real Estate Updates" autoresponder within the last month and who opened your broadcast from last week.

That's all fantastic stuff and ensures that you're sending your sales messages, offers and information to people who want to receive it.

But they're not enough. We can do better.

Much, much better!

Why?

Because segmenting your contacts correctly is probably the most profit-inducing thing you can do in your business. Delivering timely, highly relevant content to your contacts based on their interests, needs, wants and desires creates maximum impact and the highest response rates from your communications.

Imagine you had a system that monitored the actions of every single contact individually and delivered personalized, timely and highly targeted content based on each individual's interests.

Imagine you had a system that could note a contact's needs and interests individually and tailor their specific follow-up schedule accordingly.

Imagine you had a system that could ensure your contacts individually always received precisely the information that's keeping them hooked.

This is EXACTLY what you'll have with the arpReach update we're launching early next week.

It's micro-segmentation or, put simply, segments that consist of one individual contact. Removing the generic nature of email communication and targeting each contact individually allows you to create email-based sales funnels that are tailored to the needs of every *individual* prospect, not shoe-horned into a one-size-fits-all approach which is MUCH less effective.

I'm about to explain in detail everything we've put in place to allow you to set this up. But you also need to know how to do it correctly for maximum impact. And, of course, you need a list too.

I'll help you with both of these at the end of this article.

So what have we added to arpReach to make all this possible? Well, four new things (and a few supporting bits and pieces).

  • single emails
  • tags
  • events (or triggers)
  • actions (they're instant!)

...and I will explain each of them in turn.

Single Emails

arpReach now has "single emails". These are very like broadcasts except they are designed to be sent to only one contact at a time. They also don't have the schedule settings that broadcasts have. Think of them as completely-ready-to-send templates (plain text or HTML) that can be sent to any contact at a moment's notice, with full personalization.

In arpreach, the editor for single emails has all the facilities you would expect such as preview and the ability to send "test" versions of them to your own email address prior to setting them live.

You will find "Single Emails" as a new option in the "Content" menu.

arpReach micro-segmentation

Tags

Tags are an extremely powerful but simple way to "mark" a contact's interest or an action they have taken. They usually consist of a few simple words. A contact can have any number of these. Here are some examples and, as you can see, they can be almost anything.

  • expressed interest in widget #1
  • came to our exhibition stand
  • opens our weekly newsletter
  • downloaded our price list
  • viewed widget #1 data sheet
  • clicked link to our widget #1 current offer
  • opened message #1 in widget #1's sales sequence
  • opened message #2 in widget #1's sales sequence
  • opened message #3 in widget #1's sales sequence

So with tags, you have a simple way of flagging a contact's interests, needs, wants and desires by monitoring the actions they are taking in the course of your communication with them and attaching (or removing) the relevant tags to the contact's record.

Tags are a hugely important part of the new micro-segmentation philosophy of arpReach.

And equally (hugely) important, we need a way to monitor exactly what each contact is doing out there. So we also have...

Events (or triggers)

An event (or trigger) is an action that your contact has taken. This could be

  • clicking a link in an email
  • opening a broadcast
  • opening a follow-up message
  • opening a single email

arpReach micro-segmentation

But the best is yet to come.

Micro-segmentation only works if you take carefully planned action based on the expressed interests and actions of your contacts. Sure, it's great to note what they're reading, clicking and downloading but what's the point if you don't use that information to invoke your most wanted response from those contacts.

So allow me to introduce...

Actions (and yes, they're instant and real-time)

An action is something that happens...

  • automatically
  • instantly
  • in real time

...in response to an event (an action your contact has taken).

And, what's more, you can assign *any number* of actions to an event so that many things can happen in the background automatically and instantly that your contact generates an event *the instant* your content sparks interest or desire in them.

So I bet you're wondering what kinds of actions you can make happen when an event triggered by a contact action occurs.

Well, there's quite a list!

  • Add one or more tags (remember those?)
  • Remove one or more tags
  • Add to one or more contact categories
  • Remove from one or more contact categories
  • Subscribe the contact to an autoresponder
  • Unsubscribe the contact from autoresponder(s)
  • Delete autoresponder subscription(s)
  • Delete all autoresponder subscriptions
  • Send a single email (remember those?)
  • Send the contact record to other software via http
  • Add contact to your suppression or ban list
  • Remove contact from your suppression or ban list
  • Delete the contact

arpReach micro-segmentation

...and, don't forget, a single event can trigger any number of actions that you want.

An example follows after the break.

Micro-segmentation is not difficult to do and it's obvious how it can work in almost any sales situation. It's the ultimate in automated follow-up marketing (which you're already sold on, right?) but we completely believe that you should do it right from the get-go. So, at the end of this article, I'm going to recommend a course that, in our reckoning, rates as the best follow-up email marketing course we have ever seen. And the good news is that EVERYTHING it teaches is now possible with arpReach.

Sure, you can easily use all the new functionality that I'm describing but this stuff is so powerful and so flexible that it's as easy to get it wrong as it is to get it right.

And we're not just making this up. We have taken the course on board and it now forms the basis of our entire email marketing strategy.

It's worth saying here too that this thing includes a free list-building strategy too so EVERYTHING you need is covered.

I'll give you the link at the end.

So here's an example which uses all four of our new toys

  • single emails
  • tags
  • events
  • actions

Let's say you have a squeeze page on your website. It's designed to build your list and offers a free 30 day course on weight loss, with one email being sent per day.

The business model is that you have a series of paid-for exercise videos and you are also an affiliate for several products in the weight loss and fitness area. You promote those products to the individuals who show interest by the actions they take in response to your 30-day course emails.

So a contact comes along and fills out your subscription form. They get added to the list and the sequence begins.

The first couple of days, your emails set the scene and introduce yourself including your experience and credentials, all designed to build trust and credibility.

So nothing seems to be happening but, importantly you created an event/action that tags your contact if they open each follow-up email. All good information for later!

On day 7, your follow-up email contains information on the importance of keeping fit to reduce weight. You provide a lot of information on how it's vital to have a program of exercise. You tell your contact that you have a free information sheet containing an exercise program. To get the information sheet, they simply need to click a link in the follow-up email.

No forms to fill in.

No confirmation emails to contend with.

And, of course, some of your contacts will click that link. And when they do, several things happen instantly and automatically, thanks to events and actions in arpReach:

  • they are tagged "interested in exercise"
  • they are added to the "funnel step 2" category
  • they receive an email with the information sheet attached
  • they are added to your "Exercise Videos" sales sequence

...all happening in the background, completely transparently to the contact.

And it's the 4th action that's so powerful because your new subscriber on your "Exercise Videos" sales sequence has voted with their mouse and shown interest in the product.

Can you see how you could construct a VERY effective profit-building structure? All you're doing is responding INSTANTLY to your contact's interests and desires, moving them down the path to your most wanted response.

And that's just a very simple example of one step in what can be a highly targeted and highly profitable sales funnel.

AND FINALLY (for now)...

There are two more things to tell you about and this is an advanced feature for people with programming experience or expertise in their organization.

  • One of the actions you can take automatically in response to a contact event/trigger is to send an http post to a remote URL. The entire contact record including custom fields is sent as a post request.
  • By calling a special arpReach URL along with a new access key setting, you can trigger any of your actions from a remote script. So imagine you have an ordering system that accepts a PayPal IPN and adds a customer to your membership software. You can now remotely run any number of actions to tag them, subscribe them to autoresponders and do any number of the other actions described above.

In a nutshell, arpReach now sits in the middle of your entire software platform - accepting requests to perform actions on your contacts and issuing its own http posts to other software you run.

It's immensely powerful.

It's unbelievably flexible.

It's arpReach with NO MONTHLY FEES.

These new features will be available for download early next week.

Have a great weekend.

arpReach Team

PLEASE REMEMBER (because this is the last time we'll be saying it)...

To take full advantage of the immense business-building power of the new facilities, you're going to need all four of the new features. But at least one of them (maybe two) are going to be exclusive to arpReach Gold and not available in arpReach Standard.

As always, all existing arpReach Standard, Gold (and their previous names One, Five and Ten) users will automatically be grandfathered in to all these new features. This includes people who order the lowest priced arpReach Standard before we push the launch button early next week. Click the link below to get in now at the low "Standard" price.

If you're looking for that link to the micro-segmentation email marketing course (with free list-building supplement), then here it is. We thoroughly recommend it - it's a perfect match for arpReach's new functionality and we're using it ourselves for ALL our email marketing. Our marketing manager (Hi Helen!) identified incremental sales in 6 figures using this method and that's if we convert just 3% (that's T-H-R-E-E) of the opportunities we've found.

It's formidable marketing, pure and simple.

Hey, if you just want the free list-building course then it's available here.

March 6th, 2013
We just popped up for some air to tell you that this week's game changers are almost complete and ready to announce. We really want to make sure you fully understand the awesome power of these and there is so much to tell you, we might do a webinar. A walk-through by video is planned.

You are going to need to think very differently about how you put together your campaigns and plan them really carefully. But these really are game changers so that's to be expected.

Back in the real world, here at arpReach our marketing manager (Hi Helen!) has already drawn up a plan for our own business that uses these new features in conjunction with our various online systems to produce incremental sales in 6 figures. And that's if we convert just 3% of the opportunities we've identified. We'll be rolling these out over the coming weeks. Real-world features for real-world businesses!

On a slightly different note, we're thinking of doing a monthly training webinar with a Q & A section.

Let us know if that's of interest by dropping us a note.

arpReach game changerWe are pleased to announce that the two March game changers are scheduled for launch later this week.

Believe us when we say that you will want to use these in your business all day and every day because they really are THAT powerful.

A word of warning - these may end up in arpReach Gold (our top level package) so if you want them at the low Standard price, you need to make sure you have at least an arpReach Standard license before we launch them. We always give game changers to existing Standard users for a short time after launch even if they are Gold features. Just call it a thank-you for trusting us on the secrecy (which is to give you a competitive advantage)!

These features are so powerful that they're found in only the most expensive of the top-range autoresponders. The cheapest provider we found with them was $199 per month and the other we found was $297 per month. None of the "low cost" providers have them. As always, arpReach strives to bring you top-shelf features with NO MONTHLY FEES.

And we have one (well, two actually) coming in March. Don't miss them because you're going to absolutely love them, we promise.
